Board of Health meetings

The Board of Health meetings are open to the public and there is an opportunity for public comment. The full Board of Health normally meets on the second Tuesday of the month. Occasionally meetings are scheduled on other dates. Call 425.339.5210 for current meeting dates.

It is a custom for each Board meeting to include an assigned period for public comment from individuals present at the meeting. Generally, the public comment occurs near the beginning of the meeting and comments are limited to no more than three minutes per person. The Chair of the Board may, as circumstances require at each Board meeting, reduce the time allotted to individuals or reduce the overall time assigned for public comments.

Committee Meetings

Unless otherwise noted, committee meetings of the Board of Health are open to the public but do not have a public-comment period. Meetings are held at the Snohomish Health District, third floor, unless otherwise noted.

Administration Committee

The purpose of the Administration Committee is to discuss topics related to annual agency work-plan development, finance and budget, fees and charges, grants and contracts, human resources and employment-related policies, collective-bargaining agreements, technology, public records, risk-management, security and safety, and use of District facilities.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is authorized by the Board of Health to exercise powers and authority relative to bids, contracts, agreements, and grants. It also has limited powers of the full Board and to act on its behalf on urgent matters when the Board is not in session or when convening the full Board is not possible or practical.

Public Health Program Policy Committee

The purpose of the Public Health Program Policy Committee is to discuss topics related to local, state, and federal policies; legislation and regulations; development of agency legislative priorities; changes to the SHD sanitary code; development and implementation of health policies; development of new and disposition of existing projects or programs; and the application, extension, and/or renewal of grants and contracts.
