Communicable Disease

The Communicable Disease division focuses on prevention and control of communicable disease through monitoring, outbreak response, education, vaccination, and preparedness activities. Under state law, health care providers, hospitals, and laboratories are required to report certain diseases to local public health agencies. Snohomish Health District is charged to receive disease reports, conduct investigations into the cause and possible spread of illness, and initiate disease control measures.

The Communicable Disease division is led by Director Nancy Furness, RN, MS.
